Dress for Success Quad Cities works in collaboration with a network of service providers throughout Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois to ensure each woman has all the support she needs to achieve self-defined success. Our services are free of charge and include:
- Job Search Skills – group workshops and individual help on resumes, interviewing, and applications.
- Career Planning – assistance in developing a long-term plan to find work that is satisfying and pays a self-sufficient wage.
- Soft Skills Training – resources for improving communication, personal image, and confidence that can increase professional and personal success.
- Professional Clothing – for job interviews and new employment.
- Individual Assistance– one-on-one assistance to navigate barriers to sustained employment and to find resources to help with training and education, housing, legal services, and personal finances.
How our programming works:
We strive to ensure that our programs and services are easily accessible to the women in our community.
Step 1: Sign up for a HireHER Workshop
If a woman is new to our services and programming, she can sign up for (or more!) of our virtual group workshops.
Step 2: An Interview Outfit and/or Coaching Appointment
After taking any HireHER workshop, she is eligible for an Interview Outfit Appointment as well as 1:1 Career Coaching.
Step 3: Get the Job!
We offer ongoing support via 1:1 Career Coaching and career development workshops while a woman is job searching. Once she lands her job, we invite her back to receive a capsule wardrobe, and to join Career Connections (launching soon!)

The Illinois Department of Employment Security is the code department of the Illinois state government that administers state unemployment benefits, runs the employment service and Illinois Job Bank, and publishes labor market information. The American Job Center provides job placement and referrals, unemployment insurance, employment and training programs, career and labor market information, payroll tax filing, and more.

Argrow’s House is a healing house that offers free services for survivors of domestic violence and abuse. It’s also a social enterprise, which hires survivors to create bath and body products that are sold online and in local stores.

Children & Families of Iowa (CFI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families throughout Iowa. Headquartered in Des Moines with offices in Ankeny, Fort Dodge, Osceola and Ottumwa, CFI provides services, such as: domestic violence prevention and intervention, teen programs, family support, early childhood development, mental health and substance abuse.
