Programs
How do I get an appointment?
Start by signing up for one of our HireHER workshops. These workshops are free and last around 1 hour. Once you have completed a workshop, you may request an Interview Outfit Appointment or 1:1 Career Coaching, or both!
Do I need a referral?
No! Although we work with a network of agencies to help make women aware of our free programs and services, a referral is not required to access our programs or services.
Do you offer job placement?
No. The programs at Dress for Success Quad Cities prepare women to search for and secure employment. However, we do work collaboratively, and are able to connect you with agencies like Sedona Staffing. Periodically, we are also provided job leads which we share via email or on our social media pages.
What if I already have a job and just need clothes?
Dress for Success Quad Cities’ StyleHER program is intended to provide professional clothing to women who are unemployed or searching for full-time employment. To ensure that resources are directed to those who need them most, New Job Wardrobe Appointments are only available to women who have taken a HireHER workshop and have had an Interview Outfit Appointment.
If you have already secured full-time employment and still need clothes, you can utilize our subsidized clothing sales – FAB Friday sales – to purchase low-cost professional clothing. Our FAB Friday sale is the last Friday of every month, (except November/December), and you can purchase a 16 x 20 tote bag that you can fill with clothing for $35. Check the calendar for upcoming FAB Friday events.
Clothing Donations
When are donations accepted?
Donations are accepted Tuesdays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the door marked Donations, up the ramp on the front right-hand side of the building. Parking is available in front of the building along 32nd Street.
Why are donation hours limited?
We rely on volunteer support to help intake, sort, and process donations. Our staff focuses their time and attention on making sure the women we serve have the resources and support they need.
Why do you request donations be cleaned first?
Dress for Success Quad Cities provides ready to wear clothing to QC women going on interviews, starting a new job, or needing to expand their professional wardrobe on a budget. We appreciate your donations of clean clothing.
What kind of clothing are you looking for?
We need women’s professional suits and separates that are not more than 5 years old and appropriate for a job interview. If you would not wear it to a job interview or to work today, we will not dress someone in it.
Do you pick up donations?
No, we do not.
