Dress for Success Quad Cities Volunteer Opportunities:
Work with Program Participants
Career Coach: Work one-on-one with women to help them practice interview and/or job search skills, provide general career guidance, or help women re-enter the workforce or transition to a new job. (Requires an ongoing time commitment, roughly 6 hrs./month.) Intermediate to advanced computer skills are required, as coaching is currently virtual.

Guest Speaker: Design a 1-hour workshop or presentation on a theme/topic of your choosing to deliver to Dress for Success Quad Cities participants in workshop/webinar format.
*NOTE: Completing Volunteer Orientation is not required for this role. If you are interested in being a guest workshop facilitator/guest speaker, you can learn more and apply here.
Resume Reviewer: Provide written feedback on resumes in accordance with our best practices and protocols via Word or Google Docs.
Image Coach: Help women choose a professional outfit for their interviews and/or place of employment, as well as create a comfortable, safe, and inclusive environment to boost their self-confidence.
Work with Staff
Donation Center Specialist: Help sort, tag, and organize incoming clothing donations, determining which donations are boutique-quality, which are appropriate for our FAB Friday sales, and which do not fit our needs needs, to make sure we have gorgeous clothes to empower our StyleHER participants.
Administration: Help answer phones and take messages. Assist with data entry, filing, mailing projects and other light office jobs. Provide a warm and welcoming presence for participants, volunteers, donors, and other visitors. Help keep the boutique area clean and organized.

Outreach & Special Events
Community Outreach: Appear at local events, by request, to share the mission of Dress for Success Quad Cities and what we do for our participants. Speak to groups like small businesses, churches, referral partners and other community groups. Help engage the community in our events, sign up participants and volunteers, network and build relationships.
FAB Friday Sales: Our FAB Friday sales occur on the last Friday of most months. Volunteers assist with preparation, customer service, and operation of the sale. No training is required. We encourage all our volunteers to sign up for a sale shift, regardless of what other roles you serve in!
Fundraising Events: Our biggest fundraiser, Recycle the Runway, is held each spring. Committee members serve in the capacity that best matches their skills, interests and time limitations. Event-day volunteers help set up and tear down, run silent auction tables, and assist in various roles to ensure the show goes on smoothly.
